Fight The Cold With A Truly Advanced Furnace.

If you live in a colder climate, you know how good the heat from a gas furnace can feel. That warm wave of air coming from the registers is like getting wrapped in a blanket fresh from the dryer.

If you want to get the most out of your winter warmth, an energy-efficient furnace is a smart investment. And you won’t find a better home furnace choice than the Lennox® SLP98V.

The SLP98V. The furnace that adjusts energy use to your needs.

Every gas furnace uses a series of burners to ignite fuel and turn it into warmth. Conventional furnaces turn the gas flame on and off as your furnace cycles, creating warm air that then circulates through your home. The problem with this method is, the furnace ends up in an inefficient cycle of making the home too warm, letting it cool, then heating it up again.

The SLP98V, on the other hand, uses a special gas valve that can adjust the flow of fuel from 35% to 100%, in increments of 1%. That means it can operate at 65 different levels of heat output, to exactly match your comfort and energy savings.

More levels of heat mean greater precision and efficiency

Rather than keep your home in a heat-cool-heat-cool cycle, the SLP98V will bring your home to the temperature you desire, and keep it there using little bursts of heat throughout the day. In fact, when paired with an iComfort® thermostat like the iComfort Wi-Fi®, the SLP98V can keep your home within half a degree or less of the temperature you set.

With the SLP98V, you’re never using more gas than you need, but you’re never getting short-changed on heat either. So you get comfort, and smart energy use, every day.

More than heat

The SLP98V’s ability to adapt to your exact comfort needs isn’t limited to its heating capabilities. The way it moves air around also helps create and preserve your ideal environment.

The SLP98V uses a variable-speed blower, which allows it to adjust airflow up and down like a dimmer switch, moving air slowly and efficiently during normal operation, with the ability to ramp up airflow when demand increases. There are many benefits to this.

  • No more hot and cold spots

A slow, consistent stream of warm air maintains the temperature you want with great consistency.

  • No rushes of cold air

When it needs to increase heating, the SLP98V can do so with a slow, gentle flow of air. So you don’t feel any sudden rushes of cold air, just consistent and steady heat.

  • Quieter operation

Because the blower motor starts slowly and quietly, you’ll never experience a loud rush of air when the furnace comes on. In fact, the SLP98V is the quietest high-efficiency furnace you can buy*.

Impressively efficient

The SLP98V’s combination of adjustable gas flow and variable-speed airflow means it can deliver heat without wasting energy. This has helped it earn the Most Efficient of ENERGY STAR in 2015 designation, meaning it is recognized by the government as a standout product that offers exceptional energy savings.

With an AFUE (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency) rating of 98.7%, the SLP98V converts 98.7% of its fuel into useable heat. That can translate to as much as $800 per year in energy savings when compared to an older furnace.

Dual-fuel operation

For even greater energy savings, the SLP98V can be installed with an electric heat pump to create a dual-fuel system. In this configuration, your furnace acts like a blower during hot weather, circulating the cool air created by your heat pump. As the weather gets cooler, the heat pump supplies heat to the home by drawing it in from the outside air.

When the weather gets too cold for the heat pump to operate efficiently, the furnace takes over heating duties with its gas burners.

A dual-fuel system is able to switch back and forth between gas heat and electric heat, based on energy rates in your area. So no matter what the weather is doing, you’re always keeping warm in the most efficient way possible.

Communication is key

The reason the SLP98V is able to work in tandem with a heat pump has to do with another one of its impressive capabilities. As part of the Dave Lennox Signature® Collection, the highest tier of innovation in the Lennox lineup, the SLP98V has the ability to talk with every piece of equipment in your heating and cooling system via a data link.

This link tells the SLP98V what the heat pump, air conditioner, air purification system and thermostat are doing at all times, allowing your whole heating and cooling system to work more efficiently as a team to give you more comfort out of every energy dollar.

Get the warmth and efficiency you deserve.

If you’d like to enjoy greater control, comfort, efficiency and consistency every day of the year, put the capabilities of the SLP98V to work in your home.
